A charity in Lancaster which has helped thousands of animals find loving homes over almost 50 years is in urgent need of financial help.
Animal Care has begun a fundraising campaign to help safeguard its future after announcing it was in a "very serious financial situation".
Formed in 1978, Animal Care takes in unwanted and abandoned animals from all over the North West and looks after them until they can find them new homes.
The animal shelter on Blea Tarn Road, which is entirely self-funded, looks after around 800 dogs, cats, rabbits and more each year.
Beyond Radio visited Animal Care on Tuesday to see first-hand the amazing work the team do.

Earlier this week, Animal Care posted this statement on its social media.
"We’re sorry to have to write this post, but due to on-going financial challenges, Animal Care is in a very serious financial situation. This means we urgently need to secure regular donations and sponsorship to protect the future of our charity.
"For nearly 50 years, Animal Care has been a dedicated part of our community. We are proud to have an incredible and loyal community around us, along with a fantastic team of committed staff. Together, we have helped thousands of animals find safety, care and loving homes. However, the past few years have been incredibly difficult, and now we need your help to survive.
"We rely entirely on donations, fundraising and the generosity of our supporters. Without regular giving, we simply cannot continue our work!
"If everyone who follows us on social media donated just £2 a month, we would not only survive — we would thrive again. A small amount each month truly adds up and gives us the stability we desperately need.
