It was a record attendance for the Christmas pantomimes at Lancaster’s Grand Theatre.
Venue bosses have announced that Cinderella – this year’s family performance from Lancaster Footlights, and the adult panto, Dick Whittington, performed by After Dark Murder Mystery Events, attracted record numbers of visitors to the theatre.
The theatre in total welcomed close to 15,000 guests to the theatre in December and were completely sold out on most shows.
A spokesperson for the Grand Theatre said: ‘’We would just like to take this opportunity to once again thank everyone who attended, thank you to all of the wonderfully dedicated cast and crew from both productions and to our lovely staff and volunteers.
‘’Thanks also to the Mayor of Lancaster for attending the theatre last week and agreeing to join the cast on stage to capture the moment. Thank you for your kind words of support.
‘’Bring on a successful 2023!’’
Councillor Joyce Pritchard, Mayor of Lancaster, added: “It was absolutely brilliant, it is such good family entertainment, everybody has enjoyed it and the shouting from the children in the audience was just fantastic.”
Lancaster Grand’s 2023 programme begins next week (January 13).
