Lancaster City Council has appointed an interim chief executive.
Mark Davies will step into the role while the council completes a recruitment process to find a permanent chief executive.
The current chief executive, Kieran Keane, will step down from the role on March 31.
Mr Davies is currently the council's Director for Communities and Environment.
The interim appointment was confirmed at a meeting of full council at Morecambe Town Hall last night.
“We are pleased to confirm that Mark Davies will be supporting the Council as Interim Chief Executive from the start of April until our active, open recruitment process for a permanent Chief Executive is complete," said a Lancaster City Council spokesperson.
