Musical theatre students from Lancaster and Morecambe have performed in the heart of London's West End.
Children and young people from the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) took to the stage to perform 'Across the Line' at Her Majesty's Theatre, this October.
The academy offers a range of opportunies in musical theatre, acting for stage and screen and filmmaking.
The musical was written especially for the academy by writer/producer-director Will Brenton, and is described as a contemporary, coming-of-age musical adventure perfect to celebrate each student’s individuality and put into practice the many skills they learn in their weekly classes.
"We could not be prouder of our talented young performers at PQA Morecambe & Lancaster," said Mairead Croly, principal at the academy.
"They absolutely wowed the audience at His Majesty’s Theatre, delivering an outstanding performance that showcased their dedication, skill, and passion for the stage.
"Their hard work and commitment truly paid off, leaving the audience inspired and applauding their incredible talent. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication of both the students and the PQA staff who guide them."
The school is now offering free taster sessions for students and spaces are available for ages four to 18 years. Details available at the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) website.
PQA Morecambe & Lancaster runs every Saturday at Bay Leadership Academy (formerly Heysham High School).
PQA was started by actress Pauline Quirke and her producer husband Steve Sheen in 2007 with an academy in their local town of Beaconsfield. This proved to be a great success and led to further openings over the years, now totalling over 220 PQA academies nationwide.
