Communities from across the county will come together in Lancaster for the third Lancashire Climate Action Forum.
The event aims to bring together communities to share the climate solutions they’re working on and learn from each other.
It will take place on March 4 from 9am to 4.30pm at the University of Cumbria’s Bowerham campus.
From neighbourhood projects to county wide partnerships, the event will showcase how local people are driving real change on the ground.
Among the speakers at the event is Mike Berners-Lee, a leading climate expert, author and Professor in Practice at Lancaster University, specialising in carbon footprints and sustainability.
There will also be the chance to take part in breakout rooms to share projects, ideas and partnerships to inspire wider impact.
The event is co-hosted by the University of Cumbria and Lancaster City Council.
“There’s a lot of great work on climate action taking place in communities across Lancashire, and this forum is about recognising that leadership and helping it to grow," said Councillor Sam Riches, the city council’s cabinet member with responsibility for Climate Action.
"By bringing people together in Lancaster, we can share what’s working, build stronger partnerships and ensure climate action is shaped by the people who live and work here.”
Claire Aindow, Pro Vice Chancellor-Growth & Development at the University of Cumbria, said: “The University of Cumbria is delighted to host this year's forum.
"Partnership and place are at the heart of the university's values; the forum recognises that the climate emergency can only be tackled by working and sharing together, for our own localities and beyond.
"The university brings its own expertise to link with others in creating a powerful space for thought and discussion.”
