Heysham village is looking blooming lovely and Beyond Radio has been finding out why.
We were invited to the village as residents get ready to welcome judges in the North West in Bloom competition.
The village will be judged in the Best Small Village category on Friday (July 15) and the community has been rallying round to prepare for the competition.
Beyond Radio spoke to residents Angela Sykes, Sue Morgan and Gillian Fletcher, and Joanne Mather from St Peter's C of E Primary School.

Gillian, Sue and Angela are pictured below.

And here are George, Charlie, Jacob, Jessica, George and Jesse with Mrs Gomersall, all from St Peter's C of E Primary School, enjoying a well deserved ice cream after picking up litter in the village.

Heysham won Best Small Village in the UK in 2005 and has won 10 gold medals over a 12 year period in the competition.
Here are some more photos from our visit to the village in glorious sunshine last Thursday.
