A singer and songwriter from Heysham has released his life story with all proceeds going to St John's Hospice in Lancaster.
Ron Carey's e-book ' Something Happened' is now available to buy from the Lancaster hospice's website for £10.
The book is a "social history of one man’s life and times from 1940 to the present day".
It tells how Ron, 83, grew up in Barrow before moving to the Morecambe Bay area, and the stories of people he was privileged to meet.
The book is peppered with anecdotes and unpublished photos, commentary on world events that have happened during Ron's lifetime, and tells of his work for the Rotary and his love of singing and songwriting.
Ron has been a popular performer around the local area in recent years, appearing at many venues including the Lancaster Grand, the Winter Gardens and The Carleton.
He sang with the Lancaster University Big Band, performed in musicals for the Morecambe Warblers, wrote and produced his own musical 'Across the Bay', and auditioned for TV talent shows The Voice UK and Britain's Got Talent.
The hospice thanked Ron for providing the book for sale to support the care they provide across the community.
