Liberal Democrats have spoken out about the issues they are focussed on while on the campaign trail ahead of the local elections.
There will be full Lancashire County Council elections, as well as a Lancaster City Council by-election in John O'Gaunt, and a Morecambe Town Council by-election in Torrisholme, when the district goes to the polls on May 1.
We asked the Liberal Democrats to explain the main issues the local candidates will be campaigning on.
"The Liberal Democrats are a party made up of community campaigners who report issues like fly tipping and potholes," said a spokesperson for Lancaster and Morecambe Liberal Democrats.
"Lib Dem councillors listen and respond to the needs and issues brought to us by voters.
"In this election for our county council we are focussing on local issues such as social care, highways and children with special educational needs which are the big expenditure items for our county council, as well as the problematic issue of government enforced local government reorganisation.
"Lib Dems believe smaller local authorities give voters the democracy and representation they deserve, whilst still seeking efficient service delivery.
"We encourage voters to express the obvious dissatisfaction with the Labour and Conservative parties, which we are meeting on the doorstep every day, by electing conscientious Lib Dem councillors who will fight for their communities, whether in town, city or countryside, with determination and honesty."
Labour, Conservative, Green and Reform UK candidates will also be contesting Lancashire County Council seats across the Lancaster and Morecambe District on May 1.
Going into the election, the county council is Conservative-led.
