Crews tackle wildfire on Heysham Moss

Fire crews spent more than five hours tackling a wildfire which broke out on Heysham Moss yesterday.

Four fire engines and special appliances from across the service attended the blaze at the site on Clay Lane, Morecambe, after the alarm was raised at around 2:40pm yesterday (Sunday April 24th).
 

Firefighters used three leaf blowers and five beaters to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for approximately five hours and ten minutes.


The cause of the fire is under investigation.
