The City Council’s environmental team are looking into two cases of fly tipping on country lanes in Lancaster last week.
Crews spent hours cleaning up the mess dumped on Folly Lane, Slyne and Hammerton Hall Lane, Lancaster.
A spokesperson said: ‘’Fly tipping like this has already cost local tax payers £276,927 in the past year - it's also an eyesore for residents and a harm to the local environment.
‘’If you saw anything or have information about who may be responsible, please email environmentalhealth@lancaster.gov.uk .
‘’It is not acceptable and there is no excuse.
While this again appears to be trade waste, if you do pay for someone to take your waste away, there are a few ways to make sure it won't be dumped like these incidents.
‘’Always ask for their waste carrier registration number, check it on the Environment Agency’s public register or call 0300 065 3000.
‘’Once again, we're grateful to the public for alerting us the fly tips, which enable us to swiftly remove the mess.’’
