Carnforth fire officer retires after 41 years of service

Andy Hill on his retirement from Carnforth Fire Station

A fire officer has retired after an incredible 41 years of dedicated service in the local area.

Andy Hill started his on-call career at Lancaster Fire Station on October 10 1981.

He then moved to Carnforth Fire Station in 1999 and retired on October 10 2022, exactly 41 years after his career in the service began.

Carnforth Fire Station thanked everyone who came to see Andy off, from stations around the northern area.

"We wish Andy and his family all the very best and thank you again for your 41 years of service!" said a post on the Carnforth Fire Station Facebook page.
