A Carnforth holiday park operator has donated £100,000 towards vital community care provided by a Lancaster hospice.
The donation from Pure Leisure Group will help St John's Hospice to fund vital community nursing services across Lancaster and Morecambe Bay.
The contribution will enable the hospice to deliver more than 4,000 hours of specialist care in the community and support the salaries of three full-time Hospice community nurses for a year.
St John’s Hospice is a vital organisation providing palliative and end-of-life care to people living with life-shortening conditions, supporting both patients and their families at some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Demand for its community nursing services continues to grow as more patients choose to receive end of life care in the comfort of their own homes.
John Morphet, Owner of Pure Leisure Group, said: “St John’s Hospice plays an extraordinary role within our community, providing compassionate care and support to families when they need it most. We are incredibly proud to continue our donations to the hospice for a third year and to contribute towards expanding their community nursing team.
“Knowing that this donation will help fund three nurses to care for people in their own homes is incredibly meaningful to everyone at Pure Leisure.

The £100,000 donation was presented to St John’s Hospice including nurses, Patrons and members of the wider hospice team at a gathering at South Lakeland Leisure village.
The donation marks the third consecutive year of support from Pure Leisure Group, bringing the company’s total contribution to the charity to more than a quarter of a million pounds.
