A car got stuck in concrete during roadworks at Carnforth in an incident widely viewed on a Tik Tok video.
An online clip posted on Wednesday shows the vehicle part-sunken by the side of the A6 Scotland Road.
The road is closed until this Friday (October 7) for work by utility companies to create connections for a new housing development in the area.
The closure, which began on September 26, is in place either side of the railway bridge north of the A6/Kellet Road/Market Street junction and diversions are in place.
Carnforth Town Council said they reported the incident to County Highways after seeing the video.
County Councillor Charlie Edwards, cabinet member for highways and transport, said: "We have contacted the contractor to investigate how this incident happened, and they have reassured us that this will not impact the project timescales.
"We have been working closely with the contractors and the town council to ensure the road closure is managed effectively and are pleased that the careful planning of this work has resulted in disruption being kept to a minimum over the past two weeks."
