Anti-racism group calls on Lancaster residents to help send strong message

Residents are being asked to help send a strong message against racism in the Lancaster area this evening (August 19).

The Stand Up to Racism Lancaster and Morecambe organisation will be out leafleting in the John O'Gaunt ward in Lancaster at around 5.30pm today after the area was targeted for leaflets by a far right group last Saturday.

"We want to send a clear message that fascism and racism are not welcome in our neighbourhoods and that we are the anti-racist majority," said a spokesperson for Stand Up to Racism Lancaster and Morecambe.

"If you can spare an hour please come and show your support and say we want unity in our community not division and hate. Please DM us or email standuptoracism.lm1@gmail.com for details of meeting point."
