Heroin with a street value of £1m has been seized by police after a vehicle was stopped on the M6 at Lancaster.
The vehicle was stopped and searched at around 4pm on Sunday (November 19), on the southbound side of Forton Services, between junctions 34 and 33.
Nine kilograms of uncut heroin worth around £1 million was found.
A 24-year-old man from Milton Keynes was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, and later charged.
Operation Warrior targets the individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
Speaking about the incident on Beyond Radio’s ‘Beyond the Beat’ feature, DI Adie Knowles from Lancaster CID said: ‘’It was a nice little stop!
‘’Nine kilos isn’t nothing. It’s a significant seizure of class A drugs. We take class A dealing extremely seriously.
‘’Anyone dealing locally or coming through our road network will be stopped and put in front of a court.’’
