65 e-bikes and e-scooters have been seized by police over the last three months in the area of the county including the Lancaster district.
This forms part of a continued crackdown on the illegal use of these vehicles by Lancashire Police.
As part of Operation Centurion, Lancashire Police’s county-wide initiative tackling anti-social behaviour, including the illegal use of e-bikes, e-scooters and motorbike-related nuisance, officers from Neighbourhood Teams and Roads Policing Teams have carried out a series of targeted operations across West Division, which includes Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre and Lancaster.
Between November 1, 2025 and 31st January 31 this year, 37 e-bikes and 28 e-scooters were seized and across the force, a total of 168 e-bikes and e-scooters have been taken off the streets.
Inspector Steve Scott said: “What matters most to us is keeping people safe. Seizing more than 60 illegal bikes and scooters in just three months shows how committed we are to protecting our neighbourhoods and responding to the concerns residents have raised. But our work doesn’t stop at enforcement.
‘’We’ll continue working closely with partners, schools, parents, and the wider community to raise awareness, support young people to make safer choices, and prevent accidents before they happen.
“These vehicles can cause serious harm when they’re ridden irresponsibly, and we want our communities to know that the anti‑social behaviour linked to them will not be tolerated.”
