Beyond Radio to host live music lineup at free family festival in Lancaster

The Fairfield Festival in Lancaster

Street food, music and top local beers will be on offer as a festival returns to Lancaster - and Beyond Radio will be there!

The free family Fairfield Festival - which takes place on Saturday May 24 - will raise money to maintain Fairfield Playground as well as the nearby Community Orchard and Fairfield Nature Reserve.

Beyond Radio will host a line-up of local bands and musicians throughout the day, at the event on Fairfield Playground running from noon until 8pm.

Global Village Café will be providing Middle Eastern delights and More Music will return with their much-loved Walking Down the Street Gamelan workshop.

There will also be a full roster of live music as well as a barbeque, an ice-cream stall, henna tattoos and a fully-licensed bar stocking local drinks from Lancaster Brewery.

The event is organised by the Fairfield Association, a local charity set up to protect green spaces.

"The festival is a great day out for families - with entertainment, food and drink on offer from noon until the evening in our beautiful park," said Andrew Brennand, trustee.

“So many local businesses and organisations come together to support us – it really couldn’t happen without them.”

The Fairfield Association was founded in 1996 with the object of preserving, enhancing and maintaining green spaces for the benefit of the public.

The charity is entirely volunteer-run and looks after the Fairfield Playground, the Community Orchard, the Fairfield Nature Reserve and the Aldcliffe Road Triangle.
